The RumorRick Farrant, Journal GazetteBefore Braille, a four member Arizona-based alt-rock band that played a live acoustic set at a Fort Wayne radio station a week ago, is tearing up the college airwaves around the country. And one can see why. The group's debut CD, "The Rumor," is infused with multi-textured, opera-rock storytelling that is reminiscent of the groundbreaking efforts of Queen and The Who--only replete with contemporary musical attitudes. There are some lapses of a signature sound from track to track and it's clear Before Braille has not yet hit its stride. But this indie group, unafraid, unconventional and emoting fierce energy and brave harmonies, is one to watch. It may be about to usher in a new musical era that is more than merely idle noise.
